The University of New Haven has achieved the National Association of Schools of Art & Design (NASAD) accreditation. This mark of excellence designates the University’s B.A.
in Art and B.F.A. packages in Graphic Design, Illustration, and Interior Design as nationally accredited packages. The course covers basic ideas and parts of design in relation to line, shade, composition, house, worth, and visible statement, and how these relate to the fields of art and design in general. An emphasis shall be placed on interdisciplinary studying, collaborative projects, and incorporate historic, cultural, and international points of view. After commencement, most students go on to work in fine artwork as practising artists, academics and artwork writers, or as curators in private and non-private galleries and for arts councils and organisations. Many additionally pursue careers in academia, architecture and the film trade.
The university hosts over 500 events every year and is a key cultural venue within the city. Students present their work to the general public in exhibitions, concerts, dramatic productions, evenings of song, readings, and lectures.
Alongside this, workshops and projectsÂ designed to introduce a range of strategiesÂ and approaches are provided throughout theÂ 12 months. In addition, students attend taughtÂ practical courses in drawing and humanÂ anatomy as well as lectures, seminars andÂ tutorials in artwork history. Experimentation isÂ highly inspired.
