Frank
has been chosen as a recipient for the 2003 Inkpot Award. The Inkpots
are the San Diego Comic-Con's own
special award for lifetime achievement in comics.
Imagine
finding the original artist on Solar and imagine he wants to meet
with you to talk about it! My dream came true when I got a chance
to meet Frank Bolle.
Frank Bolle will be at San Diego COMIC - CON INTERNATIONAL
from July 22 - 25 2004.
Frank will be at the Comic - Con International's Special Guests HH7. He will be doing Original drawings of Dr. Solar, the Phantom and Red Mask in pen & ink and in color. He will also have copies and will autograph all art work.
It is with great pleasure that Frank Bolle has agreed to start recreating the lost classics of Dr. Solar.
These are original Dr. Solar recreations...they are one of a kind pieces by the same penciller / inker.
He will have many different pieces of comic art. Winnie Winkle, Apt 3-G , Twilight Zone and Boy's Life.

Bolle Recieves the 2003 Inkpot Award
Frank has been chosen as a recipient for the 2003 Inkpot
Award. The Inkpots are the San Diego Comic-Con's own
special award for lifetime achievement in comics and
related fields and are given to only a few select individual
each year.
Frank will be presented with his Inkpot Award at his
Spotlight program. It will be announced ahead of time
that he will be receiving the award at that program,
to make sure all his fans
plan to attend.
The names of all the Inkpot recipient will also be acknowledged
at the Eisner Awards on Friday night, and they will
be featured in the Events Guide that is handed out to
everyone who attends the Convention.
Frank has also won 3 Graumbacher Gold
Medallion Awards for his oils and watercolors. And many
other awards for his paintings.
Jon B. Cooke of COMIC BOOK ARTIST magazine will moderate
two panels Spotlight on Frank Bolle and Kids Comics
Creators. ( BOYS LIFE magazine).
Mark Evanier will moderate the GOLD KEY Comics.

enthusiast. With 287 programs in the daytime hours of
Comic-Con, comic fans can count on 167 of them having
